Dear Friend in the Light,
A year ago I had the great pleasure of welcoming my collectors to what I like to envision
as the Millennium of Light It is, as you know, my fervent hope that artists and devotees
of art can play a larger role in helping humankind realize God's plan here on earth. I
believe that art can show us ways to lead a simpler, richer. more satisfying life. Indeed.
I believe that the extended family of Thomas Kinkade collectors has already begun to do
just that. The art we've shared over the years-the prints 'you'll find in my catalog
celebrate the peace and tranquility that reward the pure of heart. For those with eyes to
see, the beauty of God's creation is everywhere manifest.
It would be satisfying if life always presented a clear and evident progress toward the
goal we all seek. But as you know, the good work that remains for us to do is hard, and
progress is always by fits and starts.
The world has seen some storms this year, as it always does, but we have weathered them
together. And. as always, we are entitled to hope and to pray that a new spirit of peace
and prosperity will flood the many nations of our planet. Within the growing family of
Kinkade collectors, there have been some very satisfying developments. A large assembly of
my
collectors accompanied me on a visit to my boyhood home of Placerville, California, where
we shared good times and happy memories, and got to know each other better. I feel that
the very important bond between myself and my audience is growing stronger and more
personal. I'm so proud to be able to say that many "Kinkade enthusiasts" have
become my friends.
I've had the chance to share my art with Pope John Paul II during a personal audience and
to present my paintings to influential world leaders. I've also been privileged to share a
simple message of hope with others through my book. Lightposts for Living.
Have we indeed entered the Millennium of Light. There are reasons to be hopeful?especially
if each of us will let the light of love shine just a little in our lives!
May God bless you in the coming year. Thomas Kinkade |
