Beth Johnston-Artist

Born and raised in rural Houston County Texas during the depression era is apparent in many of Beth’s landscape paintings. She often paints old home places; many of which are either abandoned and /or falling down. Her love of nature shows up in her garden scenes and wooded trails. Florals and still life paintings usually are composed of items she has collected through the years along with flowers from her garden.

From the time she could hold a pencil Beth was drawing what she saw, and took her first “art lesson” when her parents enrolled her with a local art teacher when she was l4 years old.

Since that time she studied with several artists, and feels that the many diverse styles and techniques learned aided her in developing her own unique style of painting.
