Ancel E. Nunn Born in Seymour, Texas on April 27, 1928 and began drawing at the age of 12. Ancel’s art education included summer workshops under noted artists Dong Kingman and Alexander Hogue. In 1944 at age 16 his etching "Domino Players" won honorable mention in the Ingellsoll competition and was exhibited at the Carnegie Gallery at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The very next year his watercolor "Cock Fight" won first place. Ancel’s work has been featured at several shows and exhibits and numerous magazines. He has been featured in books and several films for public television and more recently at The University of Texas at Tyler. |
