Good Evening, America!
In Terry Redlin paintings there is often far more to see than initially meets the eye. This new image is no exception and represents dramatic studies in contrasted lighting. "Good Morning, America" also listed on our site, is first depicted in the fresh clear light of early morning. The same subjects are then burnished by the golden rays of a setting sun in "Good Evening, America". The artist provides us with his own unique, nostalgic feelings of a more innocent time in American history. Summer has drawn to a close in "Good Evening, America!". The two fishing boats have been stored for the season. The Lakeside Boat and Auto Repair has increased their business to total service". Directional signs indicate that a few lakeside cabins have new owners. Helene's cafe has decided to offer a "weekend menu." As the flag is lowered, the community dogs gather, having learned that the shopkeeper will bring a bucket of table scraps from the cafe for evening treats.
